Welcome to Our Beautiful and Unique Historic Log Home and Certified Organic Waterfront Property. This 126 acre farm is bordered by approx 1 1/2 mile of creek frontage along the Conodoguinet Creek (This is a protected Chesapeake Bay Watershed alkaline buffered creek navigable by canoe and kayak to the Susquehanna. It flows through State Game Lands and provides the drinking water for Carlisle, PA. There is approx 1 1/2 miles of roadfront along Township maintained hardtop Covered Bridge Road and State maintained Rte 641. The farm is very accessible from these roads. The farm soil types range from Monongahela to Berks, Tyler, Weikert and Purdy. There are shale hills, colloidal flood plain and rich silt loam fields. The farm is tiled and has terraces and diversions to maintain water runoff. There is a 1 acre pond stocked with bass and bluegill. There are 40 or so acres of wildlife protected areas and woodlots. There are 60 plus acres of c! ! ertified organic hay crops primarily brome and red clover. There have been no chemicals used on this property since 1981. The restored and original log farmhouse dated back to the late 1700 s.
